SINGING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN, TEENS AND ADULTS
For over five years The Singing Workshop has helped hundreds of students discover their voices. Everyone can be a better singer. From the top-working professionals to beginners, vocal instruction is a vital tool in a singer’s continued development.
Our workshops promote:
- Healthy vocal habits to prevent strain or misuse
- Learning how to breathe correctly for singing
- Better posture
- Increased confidence and tools for overcoming shyness
- Effective vocal projection in singing and speaking situations
- Expanded knowledge of musical genres
- Performance techniques
- Familiarity with music terminology
- A deeper love of singing
Other great reasons to sing:
Did you know that students who grow up hearing music, singing songs, and moving to the beat are enjoying what experts call “a rich sensory environment”? Researchers believe this forges more pathways between the cells in their brains.
Musical experiences are an important way to help create these pathways, also called neural connections. And while listening to music is certainly key to creating them, it’s when people actively participate in music that they make the strongest connections.
Research shows that students who are actively involved in music (who play it or sing it regularly):
- do better in reading and math at school
- are better able to focus
- have higher self-esteem
